Es realitza mitjançant una petita intervenció, amb anestèsia local i durant la qual no notaràs cap dolor. Una vegada passat l’efecte de l’anestèsia pots tenir una petita molèstia, però en general el postoperatori és lleu, només en casos d’un elevat nombre d’implants o empelts es produeix inflamació i hematoma. Acudirà a consulta 10 dies més tard per a revisió i retirada dels punts de sutura. Comença el cicle d’osteointegració (cicatrització) havent d’esperar el temps indicat pel doctor, (depenent dels casos entre 2, 4 o 6 mesos) per a la seva manipulació.

EXISTEIX EL REBUIG?

No, no existeix el rebuig, ja que el nostre cos no crea defenses per eliminar-ho. Però sí existeix el fracàs, l’osteointegració no es duu a terme per diferents motius i el teixit que es genera per a la subjecció de l’implant és fibrós i no ossi, que és el que necessitem com a ancoratge per a la subjecció d’aquest implant. Aquest problema sorgeix en un 5% – 9% dels pacients, sent un percentatge petit si ho comparem amb altres tipus de tractaments mèdics actuals. Quan es perd un implant se’n col·loca un altre en el seu lloc sense més complicacions que l’esmentat anteriorment i sense cost.
